Sigh, I know, i know, in my previous post, i've babble about going to BAC. BUT! After much thinking and research, i've found out that ATC offers A-level at a more lower price than BAC (3 subjects), AND a lot of people says that ATC is better in A-levels and LLB, while BAC is better in CLP. I don't know how true that is, but i've called both school, and the staff at ATC is quite helpful, they answer all my questions, even stupid ones haha
p.s: I only chose ATC and BAC because both are LAW SCHOOL. It's like, more specific, and it's like what they're specialize in. Y'know? Too many cooks spoil the broth? See, if the school only focuses on one or two courses, surely it's better, right?
Some Qs I've asked:
Disclaimer! These things are what i've asked and what they've told me. Any false info is not my fault. OK!
Advance Tertiary College (ATC)
Me: Is the overall A-levels fee inclusive of Cambridge A-levels Textbooks?
- No, it doesn't. Need to buy books for about RM200 plus, total. Depends on how many subjects people take lar. In my case i'd like to take 3 subjects: Law, English Literature and Business studies, so RM200+ it is!
Is accommodation provided?
- Yes, it can be arranged. Call the Admin after receive acceptance latters/notif. But need to be early. Min. price RM400.
What about scholarships? Is it available for students who want to take A-levels?
- Yes, SPM min 5As, but the scholarship depends on the availability, which means if i get 5As, it is NOT guranteed that i can receive the reward. BUT, If i get 9As, i can enjoy 100% off the tuition fee. 8As-50%, 7As-25%, 6As-10%, 5As-10%(depends)
So, do i need to make the payment, like, all at ONCE?
-No, can pay by installment. But registration fee and some others should be pay upon registration.
Can i know the study/teaching method of ATC? Is it in a very large groups?
- Depends on the intake. Maximum students in a class will be like, 40.
Does ATC have rules and dress code?
-No, ATC does not.
(I only asked this coz i don't want to make faux pas. But anyway, YAY! I can wear anything and sport a Pink/purple/crazy hair wtf)
I'm from Sabah, does the school provide pick-up service from airport?
- Er, No. But ATC does provide pick up at KL Sentral. Which we can reach by bus from KLIA, with a bus fare of RM9.
Ok, sounds real good. So how can i apply? I cannot see any application form online. Is it by snail mail?
- Yes, it is. Here, let me send you the application form. Can you give me your e-mail please?.....
For real one! I called and these are the answers i get. Well, I didn't actually call and asked all these at the exact same time, I called and asked about the former Qs, and I called again today and asked about the last 2 questions hehe. Very good lar the treatment hahaha. Think I will going there coz of the
Brickfields Asia College (BAC)
Anyway!! I also called BAC , and i get these:
1. Fees can be pay pay with monthly installment. Or can pay all at once, like, CASH!
2. Accommodation is provided. Also need to be early. RM450 and above.
3. Only student with SPM- 8As and is eligible for scholarships for A-levels.
4. No rules and dress code, can wear anything you want.
5. Study method - depends on intake. Usually min. 60 person in a class. wtf.
6. Textbooks and study materials in provided, and is included in the overall fee.
The person whom i talked to is very friendly and helpful. Even made a couple of jokes haha.
SO! I haven't really made up my mind yet. Got one and a half years to go! I'll go to one of the two lar, definitely. For my parents money is not such a big issue now coz these two college/uni is so affordable, compared to INTI, which i initially wanted to go to hahaha. Bet they're secretly relieve that I decided not to go to INTI after all lol.
Here is the Overall Fee Structure 2013 i got off on ATC webpage. Screenshot it haha.
See? I only need, like RM90,000 for the whole way to become a lawyer AND for the living costs too! |
OK! I think it's obvious that I like ATC better :D
Here's some reasons why I am considering ATC very much lol
1. It's located right smack in Chinatown. Many foods and things to look at. Safer too according to my parents.
2. Easy to reach by public transport.
3. Less expensive, won't burden parents too much.
That's all i guess... So i'm SUPER psych and i can't wait to finish SPM so i can begin a whole new chapter of my life : College! <3 I'm already planning what i'm going to bring and what i'm going to wear lol. I know, i know, i shouldn't be too hopeful, coz they may not accept me, or my parents/our country may suddenly be in a economic crisis, but i can't. I am just too hopeful!!! Fingers crossed (and toes too!) that i can get into my dream college!! I am going to be a LAWYER!!! Stat!
Ok, pray for me arh!
Pray that i can successfully get straight As in SPM and easily get accepted in ATC or BAC. Amen. :D
p.s: Any tips on this school is very much welcomed. Smiles!
so how are you doing in atc? great? planning to further ur study in UOL in ATC?
ReplyDeleteWhat you need is 5C's in SPM to meet the entry requirements for A-level programme in both college.. you may consider about ATC Penang Campus, which i personally think that it's better than in PJ ( Crime Rate in PJ is growing high)
ReplyDeletethanks for your suggestion! I've never considered about the penang campus before since i'd love to live in KL, but i might consider about it due to safety reasons now hehehe
DeleteI don't know about ATC, but am currently doing 2nd year UKT LLB at BAC. This I definitely assure you, BAC treated you like a valuable customer in your first year but they treat you like shit in your second year. They are the type of those corporate making money but dont care much of their students. And mind your, out of my 100+ classmates last year, 50% failed exam in the first attempt. Even after re-site exam they were still like 20 students failed again. If you decided to go to UK for 3rd year, there are only few available university left to choose if you happen to fail the first attempt...
